![]() Music from Lysdexia!Lysdexia is a project from the mind of William H. Weston. Lysdexia Dot Org is a place for Lysdexia releases and other things musical. For now, I have included the Burning Man 2004 release, the Solstice 2002 release, and the accompanying Open Music License, Version 0.5, under which all Lysdexia works are released. Burning Man 2004:The Burning Man 2004 project was recorded in one night, right before leaving for the Burn. Gear in use was the Access Virus b, the Apogee Mini-Me, and Astarte (my Linux box). These are a few rough cuts from my upcoming album. Release (v2.0)From the Solstice 2002 project. (See below)
Winterdream (v1.4)Another track was added just before recording on Solstice 2002, but there wasn't enough time to work it in properly. Now it's complete, awaiting a final recording and mastering.
Triumph (v0.77)Most of the work on this track was completed immediately before and after Burning Man 2003 and contains some of the excitement driven by the Burning Man currents. Some parts still need to be reworked before I can do a final mastering.
Integration (v0.88)This is more of a concept piece, designed to annoy just slightly in the long drawn out parts. You should be able to figure it out at the end. Once the lead line in the middle section and the transitions in the end section are reworked and smoothed out, this track will be ready for final mastering.
Solar (v0.93)Inspired by the Sun, this piece was started in Summer 2003 and continued in Summer 2004. There's a couple bits that are still screaming for improvement before final mastering. Sorry about the bass distortion. I'll fix that too!
Solstice 2002:The Solstice project is my first audio production project, and contains my first three completed compositions. For this project, I used the Jazz++ and pmidi sequencers under RedHat Linux, the Access Virus B, a Tascam board, and a Fostex digital recorder. Tracks were dumped from the Fostex to the Linux box through SPDIF into a Hercules Game Fortissimo II audio card (cheapest card with SPDIF in, purchased just for this project -- don't ever buy one). Tracks were then downsampled (60 point interpolation with pre-emphasis filter) with resample, trimmed at the edges with hexedit, and mastered and burned with cdrdao. MP3 files were produced with the Blade Encoder, and OGG files with Ogg Vorbis. The entire recording and mastering process took 6 days, ending on the Winter Solstice of 2002. All three works are released under the Open Music License, Version 0.5. Release (v2.0)Release is the first track I composed back in 1999. Originally it was a proof-of-concept for a soft-synth I started working on, now called PHASEX (I'll have it up on sysex.net soon). Without a MIDI or graphical interface, this was originally composed and sequenced with one text file per part, with columns of numerical MIDI note values and durations. Tedious and insane, I know. When I picked up the Access Virus B, I decided to convert it to MIDI and find out what a beginner like myself could do.
Motion (v1.0)Motion is my second track, also pure Virus. I was already sick of it by the time I was done... but it still might have a couple redeeming qualities.
Winterdream (v1.0)Divine inspiration. Briatic consciousness. I am merely the vessel for bringing this work to this material plane.
